About Us:
We are excited to announce the opening of a brand new, high-quality special needs preschool into the heart of the community. The mission of the Adler Special Children’s School is to create an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child receives individualized attention so they can thrive and reach their fullest potential.
We Are Looking for:
An Occupational Therapist who is passionate and dedicated to the education of our children to be a part of the inaugural team at this NEW center-based program. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers, speech therapists, physical therapists, and families to support students with fine motor, sensory processing, and self-care skills, enabling them to participate fully in daily routines. Strong knowledge and experience with behavior management techniques and strategies a must.
Responsibilities:
· Conduct evaluations and develop individualized therapy plans.
· Collaborate with educators and families to integrate therapy goals into daily activities.
· Provide training and guidance to teachers and support staff on therapy techniques and sensory supports.
· Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed.
· Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
· Recommend and coordinate the use of adaptive tools and environmental modifications.
· Conduct assessments with tools such as PDMS-2.
· Participate in team meetings, professional development, and family conferences.
Qualifications:
· Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
· Current and valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OTR/L).
· NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) certification.
· Experience working with children, preferably in a preschool setting with children with special needs.
· Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including teachers, therapists, and families.
