About Us:
We are excited to announce the opening of a brand new, high-quality special needs preschool into the heart of the community. The mission of the Adler Special Children’s School is to create an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child receives individualized attention so they can thrive and reach their fullest potential.
We Are Looking for:
A Speech Therapist who is passionate about fostering children’s development and committed to contributing to the inaugural team of this new center-based program.. The ideal candidate will plan and implement individual interventions to enhance children’s speech and language skills. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about early childhood development and passionate about helping children achieve their communication goals. This position collaborates closely with an interdisciplinary team including teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure that each child receives effective, evidence-based support. Strong knowledge and experience with behavior management techniques and strategies a must.
Responsibilities:
· Conduct assessments of speech, language, and communication skills to identify individual needs.
· Proficiency in implementing AAC devices (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and in PECs (Picture Exchange Communication System) and the ability to train parents and staff.
· Implement IEP goals to develop therapy plans for children aged 3-5 years.
· Facilitate one-to-one therapy sessions with students and collaborate with classroom staff to integrate speech and language goals into daily activities.
· Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and provide guidance to parents on strategies to support communication development at home.
· Monitor and document progress, updating treatment goals when needed.
· Participate in staff training and professional development.
Qualifications
· Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) from an accredited program.
· Current state licensure and ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) preferred or hold a Provisional or Permanent certificate as TSHH/TSSLD
· Experience working with preschool-aged children and knowledge of child development.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff.
· Proficiency in developing Individualized Educational Plans (IEP).
· Experience with AAC devices and PECs required.
