About Us:

We are excited to announce the opening of a brand new, high-quality special needs preschool into the heart of the community. The mission of the Adler Special Children’s School is to create an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child receives individualized attention so they can thrive and reach their fullest potential.

We Are Looking for:

A Preschool Special Education Teacher who is passionate and dedicated to the education of our children to be a part of the inaugural team at this NEW center-based program. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children with special needs and a strong commitment to individualized instruction and the ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of professionals who have a common goal.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Educational Plans (IEP) for preschool students in accordance with NYSED regulations based on the developmental, cognitive, and behavioral needs of the child.

· Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies using evidence-based teaching methods for diverse learning styles and disabilities, including autism, speech or motor delays, and cognitive impairments

• Collect data on student progress towards IEP goals.

· Collaborate closely with families and multidisciplinary teams including speech, occupational, physical therapists.

• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.

· Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies using evidence-based teaching methods for diverse learning styles and disabilities, including autism, speech or motor delays, and cognitive impairments.

· Participate in professional development and staff training.

Qualifications:

• NYS Certification in Students with Disabilities (Birth–Grade 2) or equivalent.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and special education best practices.
• Knowledge of the Creative Curriculum and ARIS is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with preschool-aged children is preferred.
• Knowledge of PBS Pyramid Model and PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support)

• Monday to Friday 8:00-3:30 pm

Work Location: In person

Pay: $75,000.00 per year
