About Us:
We are excited to announce the opening of a brand new, high-quality special needs preschool into the heart of the community. The mission of the Adler Special Children’s School is to create an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child receives individualized attention so they can thrive and reach their fullest potential.
What We Are Looking For:
A Teacher Assistant and a Teacher Assistant Floater who is passionate about fostering children’s development and contributing to the inaugural team of this new center-based program. The ideal candidate will show understanding of early childhood and how to support preschool children with special needs. Strong knowledge and experience with behavior management techniques and strategies a must.This job is essential in helping young learners with diverse needs grow academically, socially, and emotionally in a nurturing environment.
Responsibilities:
· Assist the lead teacher in implementing IEPs for students with developmental, physical, and/or learning disabilities.
· Support students in daily activities, including small group lessons, play-based learning, and in skills that promote social development.
· Provide one-to-one or small group assistance to help students meet their learning goals.
· Assist with classroom organization, preparation of materials, and maintain a clean and safe learning environment.
· Help children with personal care needs as required (toileting, feeding, etc.).
· Model and encourage positive behavior when interacting with children.
· Monitor and document student progress, sharing observations with the lead teacher.
· Maintain effective communication with teachers and related staff.
· Support in maintaining a safe and healthy environment by adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
· For Teacher Assistant Floaters:
o Ability to float between different classrooms and learning abilities based on staffing needs.
o Adapt to changing situations and requirements throughout the day.
o Able to work with different teachers and communicate effectively throughout the day.
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or some coursework in early childhood education or special education is a plus)
· Experience working with young children, especially those with special needs, is highly desirable.
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
· Ability to follow directions, adapt to changing needs, and work as a part of a team.
· Physical ability to assist children with mobility and active play; this position may require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as the ability to bend, stoop, and kneel.

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday 8:00-3:30 pm
