The Mid-Island Y JCC, the Center of it all, is looking for Summer Camp Counselors for Camp Adler for Special Needs!

Summary:

Oversee children and/or teens with special needs in a camp setting.

Essential Functions:

• Model and promote the organization’s mission, values and guiding principles through positive attitude, appropriate appearance, words, and actions, as well as in compliance with organization’s policies and procedures.
• Support campers with special needs during all activities during the camp day
• Keep campers safe during the camp day
• Assist specialists during activities which may include swim, yoga, sports, art and music
• Demonstrate respect and sensitivity towards campers and families.
• Attend all staff meetings and orientations held during the camp-season
• May be assigned to other tasks and duties as directed by supervisors and the Board.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a seasonal position. The hours are typically 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday-Friday. Some late-night and overnights expected depending on placement. Camp runs from June 30, 2025-August 22, 2025.

Required Education and Experience

• High School
• Experience working with children and children with special needs

Pay: $850.00 - $1,700.00 per month
