Title: Group Leader - Camp Adler for Special Needs

Reports to: Camp Supervisors- Camp Adler Director

Classification: Non-exempt

Summary:

Under general direction from the Camp Adler director, the Camp Adler Group Leader is responsible for leading & engaging with the campers & staff in a camp setting. The Adler Center Group Leader is expected to collaborate with parents, and camp directors to provide appropriate social and communicative experiences for all campers.

Essential Functions:

• Support camper with special needs during all activities of camp.
• Maintain confidentiality of all our campers and their families.
• Keep campers safe during program.
• The ability to be patient and learn in times of struggle for campers.
• Demonstrate respect and sensitivity towards campers and families.
• Participate in staff meetings and orientations held during the camp season

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a seasonal, full-time position. The hours are typically 9:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday. Some late-night and overnights depending on placement.

Required Education and Experience

5 + YEARS experience working the children and children with special needs.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong communication and people skills
• Understanding of special needs that children could have
• Patience
