Job Overview
The Mid Island Y JCC (MIYJCC) and Suffolk Y JCC (SYJCC) seek a strategic, mission-driven Chief Program Officer (CPO) to oversee the vision, growth, quality, and financial sustainability of all program areas across both centers. Reporting directly to each JCC’s Deputy CEO, the CPO will provide executive leadership to Camp, Early Childhood Education, Special Events, and Family & Youth Engagement, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and long-term community impact.

The ideal candidate is an innovative leader with a strong background in revenue growth, program development, staff management, and financial oversight, who brings a working knowledge of OCFS and ACA standards and is energized by collaboration and passionate about serving diverse families throughout Long Island.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Program Oversight
  • Provide executive leadership for all program departments: Summer Camp, Early Childhood Education, Special Events, and Family & Youth Engagement.
  • Develop and implement a unified program vision that reflects JCC values, community needs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify emerging trends and needs to design new initiatives that expand reach and increase participation.
  • Ensure alignment with organizational strategic plans, mission, financial goals, and compliance standards.

Revenue Growth & Financial Management

  • Build and implement strategic plans to increase program revenue and enrollment.
  • Lead budget development and ensure responsible expense management.
  • Analyze financial performance and identify efficiencies.
  • Partner with Development teams on grants and fundraising tied to program growth.

Staff Leadership & Departmental Management

  • Supervise and coach Program Directors.
  • Foster collaboration, creativity, and excellence.
  • Recruit, train, and retain high-performing staff.
  • Guide annual work plans, goal setting, and evaluation.

Program Quality, Compliance & Innovation

  • Ensure full compliance with OCFS regulations and ACA accreditation standards.
  • Oversee licensing, inspections, documentation, and staff training.
  • Use data and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Champion inclusive and accessible programming.

Community Partnerships & External Relations

  • Build partnerships with schools, synagogues, and community organizations.
  • Serve as liaison with regulatory and accrediting bodies including OCFS and ACA.
  • Represent the JCCs in community forums.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on outreach and branding.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7–10 years of senior-level leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OCFS regulations and ACA standards.
  • Proven success in revenue growth and financial management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with JCC culture and Jewish communal life a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
