Full job description

The Mid-Island Y JCC is looking for a Pre-K Lead Teacher for the 2024-2025 School Year to support our theme-based learning program, aligned with the NYS Learning Standards for Pre-Kindergarten. Everything we do in the Early Childhood Department supports the mission of our center and in turn makes an impact on the community we are proud to be a part of.

This is a full-time teaching position, hours can range between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.

• Must be comfortable speaking with parents and delegating tasks to assistant teachers.
• Excellent classroom management skills are necessary.
• Must be able to plan hands-on learning experiences that are aligned with the school curriculum and the Early Learning Guidelines.
• Candidate must be able to implement developmentally appropriate practices at all time.
• A working knowledge of OCFS regulations is a must.
• Candidate will be a team player, effective communicator, comfortable with technology and eager to develop themselves professionally.

Qualifications:

• Teaching degree and/or Masters in education is required.
• Teaching Certification.
