General Studies Teacher

Mercaz Academy | Plainview, Long Island

Mercaz Academy, an Orthodox Jewish elementary school in Plainview, Long Island, is seeking an exceptional NYS Certified General Studies Teacher to join our dedicated faculty.

At Mercaz Academy, we believe that outstanding education is built on strong relationships, academic excellence, and a genuine commitment to every child. Our warm, close-knit school community challenges students to excel in both Judaic and general studies while fostering curiosity, confidence, creativity, and strong character. We are looking for an educator who shares our passion for inspiring young learners and helping each student reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment where every child feels valued.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of all learners.
• Implement our standards-based, NYS Next Generation-aligned curriculum in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Social Studies.
• Design and deliver rigorous, hands-on lessons that actively engage students.
• Integrate technology purposefully to enhance learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues as an active member of our Professional Learning Community.
• Build strong partnerships with families through regular communication.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State Teaching Certification.
• A passion for elementary education and a commitment to helping every child succeed.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.

Schedule

Monday-Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
