The Merage Jewish Community Center of Orange County in Irvine, CA is seeking a Specialist for the JCC Waves Swimming Team and Aquatics Department. Duties involve pioneering swimmer development from swim lessons to the JCC Waves swim team, bridging into competitive swimming by recognizing skills at tryouts/lessons, and identifying committed families. Continue fostering talent into the 10 & under competition group, developing a strong base of swimmers for years to come. Responsibilities: Significant role in teaching/modifying/executing JCC Waves 9 and under program development; commit to moving best candidates from lessons to team via a systematic process; primary coach for Splash and assist Fitness I; create roadmap to Champion I; create/execute daily workouts and set up pool for practices; collaborate/substitute coach as needed; provide a positive, encouraging, challenging atmosphere for all abilities; treat all swimmers equally; attend additional practices in summer/holidays (AM); create a competitive environment for Splash and Fitness I; input/update/track meet entries/results/time improvements in Team Unify; develop goal setting in fall and spring; maintain positive/supportive attitude toward staff, swimmers, parents; clock in via ADP; create content via email, social media, team website; excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Social Media); organized with strong customer service and communication skills. Compensation: Part-time – 16 hours/week at $18.00; swim meet sessions for 10 & under up to 4 sessions/month; additional meet sessions as needed; continuing education classes paid (association memberships not included); occasional professional clinics admission paid (travel not included unless budgeted).
