Join the team at the Merage JCC of Orange County, located in Irvine. Position Purpose: Requires planning, resourcefulness, organizational skill, and effective communication; skilled in teaching/presenting culinary techniques to groups from fundamental to advanced. Under the Culinary Arts Director, develop cooking classes for children and adults; some evening/weekend shifts. Major Areas: curriculum development (holiday cuisine, challah baking, Jewish ethnic cooking), teaching classes (ClubJ, Preschool, adults), administrative (recipes, registrations, descriptions, inventory), kitchen prep (testing, shopping, prepping), and kitchen etiquette (sanitation, safety, equipment, setup/breakdown). Reports to Culinary Arts Director; no supervisory responsibilities. Skills: innovative, customer service, MS Office/social media proficiency, budget adherence. Education/Experience: undergraduate-level culinary education or equivalent and at least 2 years working with children.
