The MMJCCM is looking for a dynamic and experienced Lead Fitness Desk Manager to oversee evening operations at our Health Club. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring exceptional member service, smooth facility operations, and strong team coordination during evening hours. The ideal candidate is a confident decision-maker who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads with professionalism, and is passionate about delivering an outstanding fitness experience.
The Lead Fitness Desk Manager serves as the senior fitness desk staff member on evening shifts and acts in a supervisory capacity over other MODs and all desk staff. We rely on this role to provide operational leadership when department managers are offsite, exercising sound judgment in member service situations, staffing coverage, and facility operations.
This is an evening position. The projected schedule for this role is Monday-Thursday, 2:00pm-10:00pm and Sunday 1:00pm-9:00pm. Candidates must be able to work these hours to be considered.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide supervisory leadership for evening operations, guiding Fitness Desk Managers and desk staff and stepping in on behalf of management when needed.
- Address escalated member concerns or incidents, including de-escalation and service recovery, and ensure appropriate documentation and management follow-up.
- Coordinate staffing adjustments during shifts, including coverage gaps, schedule pivots, or operational needs.
Serve as operational liaison with key departments (Maintenance, Facilities, AV/IT, Membership, Security) to resolve issues impacting the fitness center. - Oversee evening facility operations, including equipment status, supply readiness, and overall floor supervision.
- Coordinate equipment management and reporting in collaboration with the AM Lead Fitness Desk Manager, Fitness Supervisor/FitDesk Director, and COO.
- Coordinate around 3rd floor gym rental scheduling, contracts and online updates with AM Lead Fitness Desk Manager.
- Monitor evening programming in the 3rd floor gymnasium and ensure smooth operations across all fitness floors.
- Prepare and submit nightly shift reports summarizing operations, incidents, and key updates for management.
Verify that all closing procedures and facility closing responsibilities are completed. - Deliver exceptional front desk operations by providing welcoming member service, managing check-ins and account support, addressing concerns, ensuring safety and facility standards, handling administrative tasks, and supporting overall club programs, events, and daily operations.

REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–3 years of managerial experience
- 1–2 years of gym equipment experience
- Experience in a gym, boutique fitness center, or health and wellness environment is preferred.
- Current CPR certification is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is expected, along with a willingness to learn additional systems as needed;
- Mindbody experience is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and member service skills
- Must be comfortable performing physical tasks, including lifting up to 45 lbs

COMPENSATION
- This position offers an annual salary of $55,000-$60,000, commensurate with experience.
