The MMJCCM is looking for responsible, enthusiastic, motivated and highly skilled Fitness Desk Manager to join the team. This position serves in a supervisory role, providing leadership and operational oversight. Responsibilities include adjusting staff schedules as needed, serving as a liaison with other departments, addressing operational issues and ensuring appropriate follow-up with the Director, and preparing daily shift summary email reports. The role also includes oversight of fitness center equipment, including conducting daily equipment checks, maintaining an up-to-date inventory, serving as the primary point of contact for the maintenance contractor (GymTech), and coordinating the purchase of new equipment as necessary.
The projected schedule of this position is Monday-Thursday, 5:30am-1:30pm, and Sunday 6:30am-2:30pm. Please note this schedule is subject to change at any notice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create a welcoming and memorable experience for all members and guests by offering warm, attentive greetings upon arrival and departure, using names whenever possible.
- Provide seamless check-in for members and guests, ensuring a smooth and positive start to their visit.
- Serve as a knowledgeable and approachable resource, offering clear, friendly, and professional assistance in response to questions or requests.
- Address concerns with empathy and discretion, taking ownership to resolve issues promptly or escalate appropriately to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Proactively verify account status, communicate any discrepancies with care, document concerns, and assist members in finding effective resolutions.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all fitness equipment and amenities, monitor condition and cleanliness, and promptly report maintenance needs to preserve a safe and polished environment.
- Uphold all safety standards and procedures to ensure the well-being of members, guests, and staff.
- Respond calmly and efficiently to emergency situations by contacting security, documenting incidents thoroughly, and following up with management and security as required.
- Remain attentive to potential hazards or service interruptions and report them immediately to management, facilities, or maintenance.
- Complete administrative responsibilities such as daily email correspondence, data entry, printing, and copying with accuracy and professionalism.
- Maintain a polished appearance by adhering to all dress code and grooming standards.
- Consistently model and enforce the Club's service standards, ensuring a high level of hospitality at all times.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for and awareness of all programs, services, and events offered by the Club to better engage and inform members.
- Support special projects, events, and promotions, and actively participate in all required meetings and training sessions.

REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience working in a fitness-related environment such as a gym, boutique fitness studio, or health and wellness facility preferred.
- One to two years of supervisory or managerial experience within the fitness or wellness industry.
- Minimum of one year of hands-on experience with fitness equipment, including proper use, basic maintenance awareness, and member guidance.
- Current CPR certification required; additional fitness or safety certifications are a plus.
- Proficient in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to learn fitness management software as required.
- Experience with Mindbody or similar fitness scheduling and membership platforms preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, educate, and support members in a fitness-focused environment.
- Physically capable of performing job-related tasks, including demonstrating equipment use and lifting or moving equipment weighing up to 45 pounds.

COMPENSATION
This position offers an annual salary of $47,000-$49,000 commensurate with experience.
