About Camp Barney Medintz:

Camp Barney Medintz, the summer overnight camp of the Marcus Jewish Community Center

of Atlanta, is located on 540 beautiful acres in the north Georgia mountains, just 75 miles from

Atlanta. Founded in 1963, Camp Barney serves more than 1200 children, ages 7-17, and

more than 300 staff from the United States and several other countries each summer.

We offer a Jewish camping experience rich in fun, friendship, adventure, and Jewish culture.

Our facilities are terrific and our activities and trips endless, but the Camp Barney experience

is about so much more. Camp Barney is about the lifelong friendships developed, the sense

of independence and self-confidence gained, and the connection to Jewish identity secured.

Job Description

Our Logistics Staff play a vital role in keeping camp operations running smoothly each day.

This position includes driving campers in and out of camp, delivering packages, supporting

program setup and breakdown, transporting mail, and ensuring that equipment and supplies

are where they need to be. Logistics Staff should enjoy staying busy, working in a

team-focused environment, and contributing to the magic of camp behind the scenes.

This is a wonderful opportunity to work with a dedicated, upbeat team in a beautiful outdoor

setting while building meaningful professional skills and having a lot of fun along the way.

Team members must be 21 or older and bring a strong sense of responsibility, positivity, and

attention to detail.

Responsibilities

1. Safely drive the scheduled trips for campers and staff according to the camps

guidelines.

2. Complete daily operational tasks, including:

a. Delivery packages to staff and camper areas

b. Delivery of programming supplies

c. Assist in the set-up, running, and take-down of camp programs and events

d. Facilitation of camper and staff arrivals and departures

e. Refueling of camp vehicles and gas supplies

f. Transporting of support laundry (dirty out/clean in)

g. Light maintenance work which may include the set-up and take-down of camp

facilities.

3. Assist with unscheduled daily tasks as assigned by the Logistics Director

4. Serve in the on‑call rotation when needed

Knowledge and Skills Required

1. Excellent driving skills and a strong safety mindset. Must have a clean driving history

in the past 18 months

2. Basic experience with small tools (preferred, not required)

3. Ability to pitch in wherever help is needed

4. Team Player with great communication skills

5. Openness to learn how to operate Golf Carts, 15 passenger Vans, Mini-Vans, 16ft Box

Trucks and 15 passenger buses.

Physical Requirements

1. Ability to stand, drive, walk, and bend for long periods of time. All drives will be within

4. Ability to work in the heat and, occasionally, rain

5. Ability to smile, socialize, and create connections with staff and campers.
