Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Food Service Director to join our summer camp team. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for food service, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The Assistant Food Service Director will support the Food Service Director in managing day-to-day operations, with a primary focus on Front of House (FOH) operations while also providing support to Back of House (BOH) operations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
· Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Food Service Director to ensure timely and seamless meal services.
· Oversee FOH operations, managing front of house staff by delegating duties to maximize productivity.
· Supervise dish room staff to ensure efficient workflow and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
· During meal services, ensure FOH staff remain productive and serve as a friendly and knowledgeable point of contact for campers with needs or concerns.
· Maintain dining room stations by keeping beverages, plates, cutlery, and cups stocked, removing trash, and assisting with bussing at the end of meals.
· Post-meal, assist FOH staff with cleaning duties, then transition to BOH to support the Executive Chef or Sous Chef with various tasks.
· Ensure coolers and FOH storage areas are organized, clean, and well-maintained.
Qualifications
· Previous experience in food service management or a related role preferred.
· Strong leadership and delegation skills.
· Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with campers and staff.
· Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities during busy meal periods.
· Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards is a plus.
