About the Mandel JCC:
The Mandel JCC of Cleveland is a nonprofit fitness, wellness and community center serving people in all stages of life. The Beachwood campus is home to a total fitness and aquatics center, an Early Childhood Center and garden, Stonehill Conference Center, and outdoor grounds that host our popular summer J-Day Camps. Summary: A Swim Instructor's job description typically involves teaching individuals of all ages and skill levels how to swim and improve their techniques, while ensuring a safe and enjoyable learning environment. This role includes developing and implementing lesson plans, providing constructive feedback, assessing student progress, and enforcing pool rules.

Responsibilities:
Instructing individuals or small groups in swimming techniques, stroke correction, and water safety.
Developing and implementing engaging lesson plans tailored to different student skill levels and needs.
Evaluating student progress, adjusting lesson plans accordingly, and providing regular feedback.
Ensuring a safe swim environment by enforcing pool rules, monitoring student activities, and being vigilant about potential hazards.
Communicating effectively with students, parents, and other staff members about student progress, concerns, and overall program details.
Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, progress, and any relevant incidents.
Providing excellent customer service to students and their families, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
Staying up-to-date on the latest swimming techniques and safety standards through continued training and professional development.
Qualifications:
· Must be at least 16 years of age
· Current CPR, Lifeguard, and First Aide Certification with AED.
· Ability to react calmly, confidently, and effectively in emergency situations.
· Demonstrated ability to apply lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
· Ability to lift and/or carry up to 45 lbs.
