DESCRIPTION

Magen David Yeshivah is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Tuition Assistance and Grant Coordinator. This role is pivotal in supporting our mission of providing an exceptional education by managing our tuition aid programs and securing external funding through grant writing.

Hire date is August 18th, 2025. This is an on site position.

Responsibilities:

Tuition Aid Administration:

  • Manage the application process for tuition aid, including setting up files, tracking the stages of the process, etc.

  • Evaluate financial aid applications, analyze family financial data, and determine appropriate aid levels.

  • Communicate with applicant families regarding the status of their applications and aid decisions.

  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all tuition aid applications and awards.

  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for families regarding tuition aid options and the application process.

Grants:

  • Prepare and submit proposals for various government funding opportunities.

  • Develop and write compelling grant proposals, including project descriptions, budgets, and evaluation plans.

  • Collaborate with school leadership, faculty, and staff to gather information and develop grant ideas.

  • Manage the grant submission process, ensuring all applications are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.

  • Track the status of submitted grant proposals and maintain communication with funding agencies.

  • Prepare grant reports for funders, detailing project progress and outcomes.

  • Maintain a database of grant opportunities,deadlines, submissions, and awards.

  • Stay current on trends in grant funding and best practices in grant writing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial aid administration or grant writing, preferably in an educational setting.

  • Strong understanding of financial aid principles, practices, and regulations.

  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Proficiency in Google or Microsoft Office Suite and database management software.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Sensitivity to confidential information and ability to maintain discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with specific student information systems

  • Knowledge of local and regional funding sources for independent schools.
