WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
On the communications team, we connect people in the Jewish nonprofit sector with Leading Edge’s stories, ideas, expertise, programs, and community. Leading Edge is at a vital and exciting growth point, having recently adopted a new strategy. Reporting to the VP, Communications and working closely with the Senior Associate and Senior Manager, Communications, the Associate, Communications will help Leading Edge execute and iterate its communication practices across a range of platforms to ensure that our new strategy succeeds.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Building comms products (65%)
- Building web pages and emails
- Creating/scheduling social media posts
- Drafting copy
- Light graphic design
External direct communications (20%)
- Building partner share-out toolkits
- Communicate with communications professionals at partner organizations
- Provide customer/stakeholder service related to the CareerHub platform
Comms admin (15%)
- Keep CRM system organized and up to date
- Keep Comms Calendar & shared project management tools up to date
- Help coordinate collaboration with teams and departments across the organization
QUALIFICATIONS
You are:
- A good writer (in English).
- A fast synthesizer of complex information.
- Able to tell the same story in multiple ways to appeal to different audiences.
- Adept at learning new software and tools.
- A reliable self-starter, skilled at managing your time and balancing competing priorities.
- Comfortable asking for help.
- Emotionally intelligent and skilled at collaboration.
- Comfortable working cordially across differences of strategy, tactics, viewpoint, and background.
You have:
- At least one year of full-time professional experience in a nonprofit communications role.
- (Preferred but not required:) Familiarity with the North American Jewish community and its nonprofit institutions and culture.
- (Preferred but not required:) Proficiency with Mailchimp, Salesforce, and/or the Adobe Creative Suite
COMMITMENT, COMPENSATION, & BENEFITS
This is a full-time exempt position, with a salary between $63,000 and $68,000 commensurate with experience. Leading Edge provides a best-in-class benefits package, including:
