Are you the kind of teacher who…

  • Brings history to life for students through discussion, storytelling, primary sources, and inquiry-based learning?

  • Sees history not just as content to be covered, but as a way for students to better understand people, choices, identity, and change over time?

  • Builds strong relationships with students and creates classrooms where all voices are heard, helping learners grow in confidence, curiosity, and compassion?

If that sounds like you, please keep reading and then reach out to express your interest in joining the team at Kohelet Yeshiva in Lower Merion, PA.

We are seeking a thoughtful, engaging, and student-centered Middle School History Teacher to join our faculty for the 2026–2027 school year. Our new history teacher will be an educator who is excited to help students explore the stories of our world and to guide them in asking meaningful questions, thinking critically, and developing their own informed perspectives.

Kohelet Yeshiva is a dual-curriculum K–12 yeshiva day school where the culture empowers student voice, engagement, and growth. Our students divide their time between analytic, text-based Judaic Studies and rigorous, college-preparatory General Studies.

What You’ll Be Part Of

  • A school culture that prioritizes meaningful learning and strong relationships

  • A commitment to helping students become thoughtful, respectful, and engaged learners

  • Ongoing professional dialogue about curriculum, instruction, and student development

We’re hoping to meet someone who:

  • Loves history and enjoys helping adolescents connect the past to their lives today

  • Creates an engaging classroom where discussion, inquiry, and writing are central

  • Brings warmth, patience, and a strong sense of connection to students

  • Is excited to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive school community

  • Believes deeply in the potential of middle school students and enjoys working with them at this important stage of growth

  • Holds Bachelor and Masters degrees in History, Social Studies, Education, or a related field
