Knollwood Cemetery Corp operates Sharon Memorial Park and Knollwood Memorial Park, providing compassionate and professional cemetery services to families and funeral professionals. We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Interment Desk Coordinator to join our team.


Position Summary

The Interment Desk Coordinator serves as a central point of coordination between funeral directors, families, the office team and the grounds crew. This role is responsible for scheduling burials, verifying documentation, preparing internal documents and ensure permits are accurate and completed and filed with respective agencies. Attention to detail, professionalism, and strong administrative skills are critical to success in this position.


Key Responsibilities

·       Receive and manage phone calls from funeral directors to schedule burials

·       Receive and manage phone calls from families to schedule cremation burials

·       Accurately enter and update information in the cemetery’s record management system

·       Navigate records to identify correct burial plot(s) and confirm ownership and availability

·       Create and distribute opening cards for the grounds crew

·       Prepare burial cards and related documentation

·       Review and verify death certificates and required permits for accuracy and compliance

·       Process payments and checks in accordance with company procedures

·       Coordinate closely with office staff and grounds personnel to ensure smooth daily operations

·       Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential records

·       Provide professional and courteous communication to funeral directors and internal team members


Qualifications

·       High school diploma required; associate’s degree preferred

·       3+ years of administrative or office experience required; experience in a cemetery, funeral home, or related field preferred

·       Strong attention to detail and accuracy

·       Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

·       Proficiency in electronic and paper record management systems

·       Standard office software

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills

·       High level of professionalism, discretion, and sensitivity
