Day Program Assistant Director

LOCATION: 799 Central Avenue, Highland Park

SUPERVISOR: Director of Adult Services

WAGES: $85,000 - $98,000

JOB STATUS: Full Time / Salary / Except

SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Director of GADOL provides leadership and oversight for all aspects of the day program serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This role ensures high-quality, person-centered programming, regulatory compliance, and staff development while promoting an inclusive and mission-driven environment. The Assistant Director collaborates closely with the Director of Adult Services to advance program excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Program Oversight & Leadership

  • Manage daily operations to ensure quality services and participant satisfaction.
  • Supervise and support the Operations Manager, Program Manager, DSPs, Job Coaches, Culinary Coordinator, and Therap Provider Administrator.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate program goals, policies, and procedures in alignment with agency standards.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and agency regulations.

Staff Supervision & Development

  • Provide compassionate leadership, supervision, and performance management for multidisciplinary staff.
  • Conduct evaluations, professional development planning, and regular team meetings.

Participant & Program Support

  • Ensure individualized, person-centered supports that promote safety, skill development, and quality of life.
  • Oversee documentation, data tracking, and reporting through Therap and other systems.

Administrative & Compliance

  • Uphold agency policies and all licensing/regulatory requirements and participate in audits, quality assurance, and site reviews.
  • Assist with budgeting, staffing, and operational planning as well as supporting strategic and long-term program initiatives.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Special Education, Social Work, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in human services, including staff supervision.
  • Experience supporting individuals with IDD and knowledge of relevant regulations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Therap or similar electronic documentation systems preferred.
