WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Develop, oversee, and run logistics for inclusive, relevant Jewish community experiences and programs designed for adults of all ages, including Shabbat and holiday programs, book clubs, and other engaging Jewish experiences.
- Build relationships with participants and volunteers to deepen engagement and cultivate volunteers.

LISTING OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Engagement:
- Build and leverage stakeholder relationships through community outreach in partnership with the development team.
- Plan and lead engaging Jewish programs for adults and families.
- Ensure all programs reflect JYW’s commitment to diversity and belonging.
Event Coordination:
- Manage event logistics: venues, budget, supplies, vendors, schedules, and volunteers.
- Lead weekly program planning meeting to ensure smooth program implementation.
- Serve as lead JYW point person for evening and weekend programs.
- Create and maintain events and registrations in CRM; generate reporting as needed.
Strategic Collaboration and Leadership:
- Work with the senior leadership team, operations staff, and community stakeholders on programming.
- Strategic program planning and goal alignment with JYW’s organizational goals and strategy while planning programs.
- Represent JYW in the community as a leader in inclusive Jewish engagement.
- Develop partnerships with like-minded community organizations.
Volunteer Management
- Oversee volunteer communication, logistics, and systems – especially for High Holidays.
- Maintain volunteer data and reporting tools.

Minimum Qualifications
Commitment to Jewish communal diversity, inclusion, and belonging, including engagement with LGBTQIA+ people, interfaith families, and Jews of Color. Candidates must have at least 3 years of successful experience in Jewish education and/or community programming. Knowledge of Jewish traditions, holidays, and values is required.
Additionally, this role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, exceptional time management, organizational, and multitasking skills, strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with CRM/database management. This team member will use JYW’s CRM (CharityEngine) and work closely with the Development and Communications Director and operations team on program implementation.
Work Expectations
This position requires regular evening and weekend availability, including Shabbat programming and holidays. Participation in High Holiday services and other major community events is required. Occasionally lift and transfer items weighing 25–50 pounds. This role reports to the Development and Communications Director.
Compensation/Benefits
Compensation: $65,000 – $75,000/year
Benefits: Employer covers medical health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance (up to $15,000 coverage), 403 (b) plan – 1.5% match after 6-month vesting period, and program fees (including Open Tent Be Mitzvah program). This position includes generous PTO, personal time, and paid time off for national and some Jewish holidays.
