The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for establishing and managing core technical capabilities including image, asset and lifecycle refresh management services. The IT Systems Administrator is also responsible for project solution engineering and implementation. The IT Systems Administrator is the accountable for the maintenance, configuration, support and reliable operation of the agency’s computer systems, network infrastructure, and virtualization. This role partners with third party providers to ensure reliable operation of end user technology and software.

This position is responsible for:

  • End user asset and image management services
  • Cloud Software Administration (e.g., Print, Entra/AD, etc.)
  • Network & Telecommunications Support (including Meraki HW/SW)
  • Mobile Device Management (Intune)
  • Cloud Configuration and Support (Including Azure Backup and AVD)
  • MS O365 (Teams, Exchange and SharePoint)
  • Audio/Visual HW Support (Crestron and Logitech)

Essential Functions:

Technology Management

  • Establish best practices procedures and tools related to end-user technology use, including hardware and software assets, and image management.
  • Ensure ongoing execution of quarterly hardware refresh of technology based on best practice lifecycle planning and asset management. Establish system of records and procedures of use for fixed technology assets within the company.
  • Establish agency technology standards and catalog of use. Develop and own technology acquisition within the agency. Ensure ongoing acquisition of technology aligns to defined standards of use.

System Engineering, Support and Provisioning

  • Engineering technology solutions for various projects and/or operational needs of the agency.
  • Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.

Operations and Support:

  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and network logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any potential intrusions.
  • Perform regular privileged access reviews of infrastructure and directory tools.
  • May provide onboarding support and/or general technology training to agency staff and/or clients.
  • Create operating procedures, maintenance guides, and knowledge base articles

  • Effectively communicate application updates and system modifications to pertinent staff across the agency
  • Familiarity and experience with healthcare regulatory compliance and reporting bodies (HIPAA, PCI, etc.)

Minimum Education, Licensure, and Work Experience Required:

  • Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in various technology disciplines
  • Excellent team collaboration and interpersonal skills
