Responsibilities Overview:

The Individual Giving Officer is responsible for building, managing and growing a robust mid-level giving program by developing and implementing innovative strategies that deepen donor engagement and loyalty. The Individual Giving Officer will also lead the development and oversight of an in-kind donation program that supports agency programs and client needs. This role ensures effective coordination, communication, and stewardship to maximize the impact of donated goods.


Essential Functions:

  • Development and implement innovative strategies to build best-in-class mid-level giving program that connects the donors to our work and conveys our deep gratitude for their support.
  • Cultivate, steward and solicit a portfolio of 80-90 top mid-level donor prospects for renewal and upgrade.
  • Direct and manage all communication, stewardship and renewal activities for all mid-level donors.
  • Develop tailored engagement strategies, including in-person meetings, events, and stewardship activities, to build long-term relationships with the mid-level donors.
  • Research and identify new prospects, qualifying their capacity and interest in the organization.
  • Work with the program staff to identify the needs of in-kind donations across the agency’s programs.
  • Effectively communicate the needs to JSSA’s supporter base, staff and the wider community.
  • Maintain relationships with community organizers.

Minimum Education and Work Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 4-6 years of nonprofit development support experience and 2-3 years of direct work with donors.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and solve problems.
  • An ability to build internal partnerships across the entire organization.
  • Team player who steps in as needed in other areas to get the job done.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to changing an environment.
  • Competent writing skills with the ability to adapt to and write for other voices required.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and priorities. The ability to work independently and in teams is a must.

Salary range: $95,000 - $123,500
