The Clinical Director provides overall clinical direction and clinical oversight for the Center, the emergency domestic violence shelter for women and their children in Montgomery County, Maryland. The Clinical Director will ensure provision of services, quality control and the therapeutic milieu. Serves as the chief liaison with Montgomery County DHHS.
Responsibilities:
- Directs and coordinates all aspects of the emergency residential shelter program including hiring, training and evaluation of staff, in compliance with the Sheppard Pratt policies, procedures and organizational values. Provides direct supervision to Clinical Therapists and Client Case Coordinators.
- Provides orientation and ongoing training to clinical staff on domestic violence survivor empowerment and the staff role in ensuring a safe and healthy living environment for residents. Responsible for ongoing assessment of training needs for all staff and scheduling appropriate training opportunities.
- Provides weekly supervision for clinical staff and coordinates case consultation meetings and other staff meetings according to a regular schedule. Maintains required paperwork for supervision.
- Oversees the daily functioning of clinical services being provided to clients including psychosocial evaluations, therapeutic interventions, and crisis intervention.
- Works in conjunction with Program Director to be responsible for development, implementation and revision of policies and procedures. Works together with Program Director to be contact person with Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Abused Persons Program, as well as County law enforcement and the judiciary.
- Ensures that clinical records, progress notes and logs, and critical incident reports are complete, timely and accurate. Oversees accuracy of required clinical reports on service delivery and client dispositions, including customer satisfaction.
- Provides clinical assessment and treatment services to caseload of clients residing in the shelter which includes: psychosocial evaluation, individual, family, and group psychotherapy, and crisis intervention/safety planning,
- Ensures compliance with all regulations and standards of COMAR, ADAA, MHA, OHCQ, and CARF.
- Works in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Services on implementation of clinical services and review of quality improvement.
- Works with Program Director to develop and strengthen relationships with community groups working against domestic violence in the State and County. Participates in efforts to identify and obtain community resources to support the program and to raise awareness of domestic violence prevention.
- Participates in Division Leadership Team and Sheppard Pratt Leadership Team meetings and activities. Works with Program Director to ensure that corporate compliance, quality assurance, critical incident reporting, emergency preparedness and strategic planning issues are addressed.
- Is responsible for monitoring of deliverables and reports required by Montgomery County Government for all clinical services being provided.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Division Director.
Position Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or closely related field, with a minimum of two years of relevant clinical supervision experience, a portion of which should be in partner abuse or domestic violence.
- Must possess a current Maryland license at the independent clinical practitioner level (LCSW/LCPC).
- Must maintain flexible work schedule with some on-call coverage on evenings and weekends. Strong leadership and team building skills are essential.
- A current, valid driver’s license with three points or fewer, proof of auto insurance (which meets minimum MD state requirements), and a current driving record are also required.
