Mental Health Services - Director, Clinical Services

JSSA is a growing mental health community provider in the National Capital area. We have an immediate opening for a new role, Director of Clinical Services, in our growing Mental Health Services program. Reporting to the Senior Director, Mental Health Services, the Director of Clinical Services is responsible for managing and program functioning of several clinical programs, including our CARF accredited OMHC, within the department across multiple sites and jurisdictions.

Salary range: $140,000-$160,000 based on qualifications and experience

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees the operations of existing programs and services, including: all outpatient mental health center locations, psychiatry, the Program & Consumer Support team, and the women’s and children’s domestic violence shelter.
  • Manages the day-to-day work of the Clinical Department across multiple geographic locations (MD, DC and VA):
  • Recruits, hires, trains, and retains staff in accordance with the Agency’s policies and applicable laws
  • Supervises program outcome evaluation efforts and ensures accountability to all funding sources
  • Participates in budget planning and establishes controls necessary to ensure compliance with contract and performance requirements of funding sources.
  • Identifies and develops opportunities for new program offerings and expansion/growth of existing programs and services consistent with the Department’s strategic plan. Initiates and implements new programs with the approval of the Senior Director of MHS.
  • Collaborates with the agency's development/grants department in identifying and securing new local, county, state, federal, and foundation funding opportunities.
  • Ensures that programs and services are fully enrolled and that referrals are generated from key agencies, organizations, partners, and the community.
  • Supervises staff responsible for community outreach and establishes outreach goals and objectives.
  • Engages in liaison between the Department and the community and maintains relationships with representatives of funding bodies, civic organizations, trade associations, advocacy and consumer groups, and Jewish communal organizations.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing Department in developing marketing plans and materials and ensures their implementation and effectiveness.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A master’s degree in social work or professional counseling. Licensed in the State of Maryland.
  • A minimum of ten years post-Master's full-time, relevant experience with management, administration, and supervision.
  • Demonstrated history of continuing professional and management growth at progressively more responsible levels.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, customer service, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and business acumen, recognized professional stature, planning skills, ability to prioritize activities and delegate assignments, decision-making ability, and ability to work under pressure
