Join our Top Places to Work health and human services Agency, which has provided world-class services for the Jewish and non-Jewish communities in Northeast Ohio for 150 years. JFSA of Cleveland has an immediate opening for a full-time, salaried Assistant Clinical Director to oversee our front-line home care team members. This is a critical role that shares responsibility for personnel management and quality assurance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Expects, delivers and supports high-quality service standards, including ensuring Agency policies, procedures and practices are properly implemented; conducts in-home supervision of staff, documents, and monitors employee competence and compliance.
- Leads by example, communicating professionally with clients, co-workers, and Agency stakeholders.
- Supports the continuous monitoring of client needs, supporting and making recommendations as needed.
- Aids in the review of electronic documentation, including OASIS and 485s.
- Assists with the acceptance of referrals and deployment of staff.
- Ensures the accuracy of home care scheduling by monitoring scheduling and authorization reports, guiding the scheduling and field team as necessary.
- Completes clinical assessments and visits as needed and required, approximately 10-15% of work time.
- Maintains knowledge of good clinical practices, providing education and direction when needed.
- Conducts sample service audits; helps with the preparation of documentation required for compliance and accreditation audits.
- Supports and assists with the development of departmental performance improvement activities, working collaboratively with the Executive Director and Clinical Director.
- Assists with staff development, including new employee orientation.
- Understanding of home care funders, financial performance, and budget.
- Aids in the investigation of complaints and incidents.
- Contributes to Agency committees, where needed.
- Participates in Agency on-call rotation.
- Fulfills the responsibilities of administrator, if required.
- Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.
Education/Training/Expereince and Certifications:
- Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio
- Minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a clinical setting
- Minimum of two years' experience with home and community-based services
- Valid Ohio Driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable daily transportation
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
- Knowledge and understanding of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
- Understanding issues related to the delivery of home-health services
- Management expereince required
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations, including OASIS.
- Knowledge of payment models, including Medicare and managed care programs.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
- Professional verbal and written skills.
- Ability to be flexible and multitask.
- Competency with Microsoft Office Suite and general office-based equipment.
