Immediate opening for full-time overnight and weekend Intermediate Care Facility Managers to supervise and provide hands-on care for residents with developmental disabilities located in beautiful Chardon, Ohio. Competitive benefits and free parking. Third shift Sunday -Thursday 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. (off Fridays and Saturdays).

The Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) Manager works with the Metzenbaum ICF Director and other care-team professionals to provide leadership and direction to the ICF Care Specialists to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents. Supporting the Agency's mission of strengthening individuals and families, enabling our community to thrive, the ICF Manager will be involved in planning, implementing, and maintaining supports and activities to allow the residents to live their best lives possible within available resources.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as an important member of the ICF leadership team, including the Director, the QIDP (Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional) and the other Manager(s) responsible for ensuring the health and safety of all residents and the living environment. This responsibility includes sharing on-call duty.
  • Plans and participates in activities that are stimulating and meaningful for residents, including celebrating culturally relevant observances and exploring social and recreational activities.
  • Provides training and guidance to ICF Specialists in a supportive manner to create the best work environment possible. Onboards new staff, assesses and provides ongoing development plans for continuing staff growth, and provides continuous feedback as well as annual performance reviews for ICF Specialists.
  • Ensures sufficient staffing to meet the needs of residents per individualized plans by forward scheduling, handling call-offs, and providing in-shift care as necessary.
  • Responsible for departmental documentation, including ensuring client care is documented, payroll is processed, safety drills are documented, and Incident Reports are complete.
  • Responsible for ensuring all governing regulations (state, local, Medicaid, etc.) are enforced and employees are compliant with agency policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the hiring, coaching, and disciplining of staff.
  • Works with other team members, such as nursing, PT, Dieticians, and the QIDP to provide the best care possible.
  • Ensures client rights are upheld per State of Ohio, Sec. 5123.62
  • Assists with other departmental tasks, as assigned, including inventory, ordering, laundry, shopping, providing day support services, as well as client transportation into the community when necessary.
  • Ensures house is well maintained - clean & in good repair - assigning duties and/or accessing services as needed.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as required or as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field strongly preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of expereince serving individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home setting.
  • Prior supervisory expereince and expereince working in an ICF facility strongly preferred.
  • Valid Oho Driver's License, personal auto liability insurance, and a driving record that meets Agency insurance company standards in addition to DODD non-medical transport rule.
  • Maintains current CPR/First Aid and appropriate Medpassing certification levels. NOTE: Levels I- II-III preferred and Certified Mepasser preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Hands-on assistance in personal care can include, but is not limited to, lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 50 pounds. May require assisting consumers with wheelchair mobility.
  • High degree of direct personal care, including, but not limited to, feeding, dressing, medication dispersal, bathing, and toileting.
  • High level of noise tolerance is needed.
