The Home Delivered Meal (HDM) Supervisor will oversee operation of meal delivery to homebound clients and congregate meal sites. Responsibilities include monitoring the assessment and satisfaction of clients receiving home delivered meals. Additionally, they will be responsible for arranging the daily repair and maintenance of the fleet of vehicles which are part of the Home Delivered Meal program and the Hirsch Kosher Kitchen.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of AA Degree in Business, Social Service, or related field.
  • Must have valid CA driver’s license and proof of Insurance
  • Access to reliable transportation to travel between work sites required
  • Previous experience working with seniors in a human or social service organization preferred
  • Previous experience in the strategic coordination of vehicles, drivers and vehicle routes to provide efficient delivery of products and services.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience; Supervising, training, and hiring for a program with multiple employees.
  • Background in Customer Service
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and the ability to learn proprietary database software. Solid experience in database platforms and ability to learn new platforms quickly
  • Culturally sensitive and able to work with a multicultural client/customer population
  • Ability to work in a non-judgmental manner and foster positive growth/outcomes
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and to maintain professional boundaries
  • Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, good judgment and problem-solving abilities
  • Able to pass and maintain, ServSafe food handler certification
  • Must be able to be flexible and easily shift between tasks as needed
  • Must pass a criminal background check (Live Scan fingerprinting) prior to beginning employment

RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for all logistics regarding home delivered meals and driver schedules.
  • Successfully utilize software to create efficient routes to schedule drivers for food service delivery.
  • Responsible for coordinating the packaging and distribution of all packaged HDM meals.
  • Ability to understand the needs of the homebound client and to assess the individuals’ need for home delivered meal service
  • Ability to comply with state and local fleet vehicle regulations
  • Responsible for contract compliance and date integrity for HDM Services
  • Direct supervision of all HDM drivers and Social Work Assistant. This includes evaluating performance, training, addressing routine personnel issues, and monitoring payroll.
  • Work in collaboration with direct supervisor, the Meal Site Supervisor and kitchen production team.
  • Maintain all records for HDM and Hirsh Kitchen vehicles and coordinate their maintenance and repair
  • Coordinate the duties and schedules of HDM volunteers
  • Manage and maintain waitlist for HDM programs, and conduct outreach as needed.
  • Supervises Social Worker Assistant, who conducts intakes and assessments according to contract regulations and timelines
  • Coordinate with Drivers for reporting of client health and mental status on daily routes. Coordinate with supervisor and Social Services personnel as needed.
  • Track deposits, telephone reassurance activities and contract participation rosters for accuracy.
  • Ensure that contract requirements are met for all HDM activities, ensure data in funding source databases is accurate and timely, and prepare materials for periodic audits
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required
  • Other duties assigned as needed
