The Opportunity
Are you organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting a mission-driven organization? JFS seeks an Accounting & Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper to join our dedicated team and ensure the financial health, operational effectiveness, and smooth daily functions of our organization.
In this role, you will manage critical accounting operations, coordinate financial reporting, support human resources and benefits administration, and provide essential administrative support. Your meticulous attention to detail, proficiency with accounting software, and collaborative approach will directly enable JFS to serve our community with excellence.

Your Role
Financial Operations
Process invoices and manage accounts receivable in QuickBooks. Perform reconciliations, prepare deposits, and generate financial reports supporting organizational decision-making.
General Administrative
Provide administrative support to various organizational departments.
Administrative Backbone
Provide reception support, facilities coordination, and administrative assistance that keeps our organization running smoothly.
Reliable Team Member
Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and embody JFS values of teamwork and mission commitment.

Who You Are
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher preferred.
- Three or more years of relevant accounting, bookkeeping, or accounting administration experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- QuickBooks Proficiency: Expert knowledge or strong ability to quickly learn accounting systems
- Advanced Technical Skills: Master-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Office Suite
- Meticulous Attention to Detail: Commitment to accuracy in all financial and administrative work
- Time Management: Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet consistent deadlines
- Professional Discretion: Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- Team Player: Genuine commitment to teamwork and supporting our mission
- Organization: Strong filing systems and document management skills
- Flexibility: Willingness to work evening and weekend hours as needed
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Office-based position with primarily desk and computer work. Prolonged sitting with periodic standing. Must lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Some travel to food pantry and other JFS facilities may be necessary.
