Reports to: Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisory Staff. Union Status: Yes. Position Status: Full-Time/40 hours per week. Pay Rate: $25.87 per hour. The Chief Mechanic is primarily responsible for providing maintenance support to the JTS community. Must possess and maintain certificates of fitness in low pressure boiler, standpipe/sprinkler, and air compressor operation and NYC refrigeration certification. Must have experience working with all aspects of HVAC systems. Must have competence in safe use of hand and power tools, electrical, plumbing, fire safety systems, and mechanical systems with at least 10 years of experience in the field and/or training with a Professional Trade School.

Student life promotes Jewish culture and religious practice through Shabbat dinners, retreats, sacred musical events, and celebration of all Jewish holidays. Rabbis are also available on campus to provide religious counseling. Students may also explore their creative side through participation in performing art and theatre programs. Jewish Theological also hosts field trips to Broadway shows and museums throughout the city. Both need and merit-based financial aid is awarded to those who qualify.
