Department: Maintenance. Position Title: Porter. Reports To: Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisory Staff. Union Status: Yes. Position Status: Full-Time/40 hours per week. Probationary Period: 3 months. Pay Rate: $17.55 per Hour. The Porter is primarily responsible for providing maintenance support to the JTS community. Must have competence in safe use of general cleaning equipment and in safe handling of cleaning materials. Generally responsible for the cleaning of the residence hall, guest rooms, and associated areas and includes garbage removal.

While these fields are offered at the undergraduate and graduate level, those who have yet to complete high school may take these courses as well. Jewish Theological’s Ivry Prozdor High School is a unique contribution that Jewish Theological has made to help foster Jewish education while granting a high school diploma. Student life promotes Jewish culture and religious practice through Shabbat dinners, retreats, sacred musical events, and celebration of all Jewish holidays. Rabbis are also available on campus to provide religious counseling. Students may also explore their creative side through participation in performing art and theatre programs. Jewish Theological also hosts field trips to Broadway shows and museums throughout the city. Both need and merit-based financial aid is awarded to those who qualify.
