Role Overview

As JNS expands its Hebrew-language presence, we are seeking a hands-on Hebrew Editor & Site Manager. This role is a hybrid of high-level editing, daily translation, and technical site management. You will be responsible for our Hebrew platform—translating English reporting into Hebrew, managing the backend of our CMS, and ensuring the site is updated and functioning smoothly.

You will work closely with our editorial and product teams to bridge the gap between our English desk and the Israeli market, ensuring our content is technically sound and editorially superior.

Key Responsibilities

• Translation & Editing: Translate, localize, and edit daily news, features, and briefs from English to Hebrew, ensuring high-quality, natural journalism.
• Site Management: Act as the primary owner of the Hebrew CMS (backend), managing the daily publishing flow, page layouts, and site updates.
• Content Adaptation: Ensure all content is culturally relevant for the Israeli audience while maintaining JNS’s global editorial standards.
• Audience Growth: Recommend strategies to reach new demographics and track month-over-month growth and retention metrics.
• Performance Tracking: Work with Marketing to analyze engagement data (views, shares, watch time) to inform future content decisions.
• Digital Optimization: Craft compelling headlines and manage site presentation to maximize audience engagement and SEO.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with product and marketing teams to align technical site requirements with content strategy.

Skills & Experience

• Bilingual: Native Hebrew speaker with exceptional writing/editing skills and native-level fluency in English.
• Translation Expert: Proven ability to translate complex news and opinion pieces from English to Hebrew quickly and accurately.
• CMS & Tech Savvy: Strong experience working with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal) and a solid understanding of backend digital management.
• Journalistic Background: Professional experience in journalism or digital media within the Israeli news landscape.
• Detail-Oriented: A sharp eye for both editorial errors and technical site glitches.
• Growth Mindset: Experience in audience development or digital marketing in Israel is a significant advantage.
• Resilience: Ability to thrive and remain accurate in a fast-paced, high-pressure news environment.
