About the Role
JNS.org is seeking a creative and technically proficient Mid-Level Motion Designer to join our expanding Video Production Department. This role is a unique opportunity for a detail-oriented visual storyteller to directly influence the professional, on-screen look and feel of JNS’s news, studio, and podcast video content across multiple shows and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain comprehensive graphic packages for JNS studio and podcast productions, including:
- Show openers, transitions, lower thirds, wipes, and on-screen overlays
- Title cards, background screens, and other branded elements
- Create advanced, expression-driven MOGRT templates for efficient and standardized use by video editors in Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Design and adapt graphics for in-studio display screens and multi-camera setups.
- Collaborate closely with producers and editors to ensure visual consistency and high production value.
- Occasionally assist with YouTube thumbnails and social media graphics.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in motion design or a related field.
- Experience designing graphics for broadcast and studio environments, with an understanding of:
- On-air readability
- Title-safe and action-safe areas
- Real-time production and studio constraints
- Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Strong understanding of animation, layout, and typography.
- High attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
- Portfolio required: must include relevant motion graphics work, with preference for broadcast, studio, or news-related projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating graphics for news, podcasts, or studio productions.
- Familiarity with broadcast workflows.
- Basic knowledge of 3D tools (Cinema 4D, Blender, or equivalent).
- Interest in media, current events, and Jewish/Israeli affairs.
