Role Overview:

Jewish News Syndicate (JNS), the fastest-growing news agency covering Israel and the Jewish world, is seeking an experienced and well-connected Diplomatic Correspondent to cover Israel’s foreign affairs, regional diplomacy, security policy, and international relations. Reporting to JNS’ Director of News – Israel, this is a fully remote role open to anyone in Israel.

We are seeking an experienced and well-connected Diplomatic Correspondent This reporter will be responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and insightful reporting on Israel’s engagement with foreign governments, international organizations, and geopolitical developments in the Middle East.

What You’ll Do:

  • Produce 1-2 bylines articles per day
  • Report on Israeli diplomatic initiatives, foreign policy shifts, peace negotiations, regional alliances, and international summits.
  • Cover high-level meetings, briefings, and press conferences involving Israeli officials, diplomats, and visiting foreign dignitaries.
  • Build and maintain sources within the Israeli government, foreign ministries, think tanks, and international missions.
  • Monitor developments at embassies, the UN, and regional forums such as the Arab League, GCC, and EU.
  • Produce news reports, features, analysis, and explainers under deadline.
  • Collaborate with political, defense, and regional correspondents to ensure comprehensive coverage of intersecting topics.
  • Stay ahead of breaking diplomatic developments and contribute to live reporting as needed.
  • Uphold journalistic standards of accuracy, fairness, and source verification.
  • Dig through legislation written in Hebrew, etc.

What You Bring:

  • Proven experience as a foreign affairs, diplomatic, or political reporter, preferably in the Middle East.
  • Deep knowledge of Israeli politics, diplomacy, and regional geopolitics.
  • Fluency in English; high level proficiency in Hebrew required
  • Strong writing, reporting, and analytical skills with the ability to explain complex diplomatic dynamics to a general audience.
  • Established network of diplomatic and governmental sources.
  • Familiarity with international law, peace processes, and conflict resolution frameworks.
  • Experience reporting for international audiences or global media outlets.
  • Ability to work independently and handle sensitive topics with discretion.
  • Willingness to travel within the region and work irregular hours as news breaks.
  • Degree in international relations, journalism, political science, or a related field.
