Role Overview:
Jewish News Syndicate (JNS), the fastest-growing news agency covering Israel and the Jewish world, is seeking a Chief Marketing Officer to lead the development and execution of B2B and B2C strategies that expand reach, increase engagement, strengthen brand influence, and increase revenue. JNS has 40+ full-time staff across the US and Israel and is rapidly expanding staff and news coverage in multiple languages.
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will oversee all marketing functions, including audience growth, brand positioning, content distribution, digital strategy, advertising and syndication revenue, community development, and communications. The ideal candidate is a data-driven, strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the digital media landscape, the pro-Israel ecosystem, and a passion for high-quality journalism. You’ll bring initiative, creativity, and strong communication skills, along with proven experience leading and building teams, delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
This senior-level role leads a cross-functional team and manages both B2C and B2B marketing operations, including campaigns to grow website traffic, social media engagement, syndication reach, as well as advertising and reader-generated revenue. The CMO will also spearhead initiatives to expand into new markets and elevate JNS’s influence across the Jewish and pro-Israel landscape.
The position reports to the CEO and COO and works closely with leadership to position JNS as the leading English-language Jewish media platform worldwide.
What You’ll Do:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and lead JNS's overall marketing strategy to drive audience growth, increase engagement, and expand revenue.
- Team Management: Manage and grow a high-performing marketing team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
- Website and Email Growth: Implement SEO, paid/organic media, and retention strategies to increase site traffic, optimize email/newsletter performance, and implement sophisticated funnel strategies to convert readers into subscribers and donors.
- Revenue & Partnerships: Drive syndication, advertising, and partnership initiatives that expand reach and diversify revenue streams.
- Social Media and Multimedia: Lead growth across social platforms and elevate JNS TV, podcast, and video content to deepen engagement.
- Events and Campaigns: Oversee high-impact marketing campaigns and events that advance JNS's growth and visibility goals.
- Public Relations: Direct communications campaigns with media outlets and pro-Israel organizations.
- Budget & Performance Oversight: Manage the marketing budget, initiate and track KPIs, and optimize performance across all channels.
What You Bring:
- 7+ years of experience in B2B and B2C marketing, ideally in a fast-paced news or media organization. Deep expertise in paid and organic digital marketing, email, and partnerships.
- 5+ years leading high-performing marketing teams, with a proven track record of developing and executing growth strategies across multiple platforms.
- English mother tongue; strong Hebrew.
- Strong strategic, analytical, and creative thinking skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans that drive measurable results.
- Experience managing budgets, optimizing resource allocation, and making data-driven decisions to maximize ROI.
- Advanced knowledge of acquisition funnels, marketing tech stacks, A/B testing, and analytics to support audience growth and conversion.
- Familiarity with AI tools and emerging trends in marketing, with a proactive approach to innovation and experimentation.
- Passion for JNS and our mission - Deep understanding of the pro-Israel media landscape and US/global pro-Israel and Jewish organization ecosystem, with a genuine interest in Israel, current events, and the broader Middle East.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present strategic insights to senior stakeholders.
- Proficiency in key tools and platforms including HubSpot, Monday.com, Google Analytics, WordPress, SEO tools, and social media platforms.
