PRIMARY FUNCTION:
ADL's Center for Antisemitism Research (CAR) produces rigorous, scientific research on the causes of antisemitism and what actually works to reduce it. The Assistant Director of Strategic Partnerships helps identify, cultivate, and deepen partnerships with communal leaders, policy makers, organizational partners, and other key stakeholders whose engagement can expand CAR’s strategic influence. The Assistant Director of Strategic Partnerships manages outreach and relationship-building efforts, supports content and presentation development, coordinates partner engagement strategies, tracks key opportunities, and ensures that external partners experience the organization as thoughtful, responsive, and strategic.
Responsibilities
Primary:
- Research mission-aligned institutional and individual prospects, supporting the full engagement lifecycle from initial outreach and meeting prep to follow-up.
- Help build individual partnership portfolios by developing and executing tailored strategies to strengthen long-term relationships.
- Track and advance opportunities through the full lifecycle, from initial identification to long-term stewardship, ensuring consistent momentum.
- Assist leadership in prioritizing outreach while maintaining accurate records of all partner interactions, next steps, and key deadlines.
- Create and customize a wide range of written collateral—including proposals, concept notes, briefing memos, and presentations—for diverse audiences like foundations, family offices, and corporations.
- Collaborate with program and research staff to translate complex internal work into accessible, compelling external narratives and reports that demonstrate strategic outcomes.
- Design and execute thoughtful, ongoing communications—including updates, acknowledgments, and invitations—that keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
- Support the planning of partner-facing events and convenings, ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience across all external touchpoints.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and program teams to align external relationship strategies, messaging, and partnership priorities with organizational goals.
- Develop workflows and gather cross-departmental information to improve coordination and build compelling cases for partnership.

Work Experience:
- The ideal candidate has several years’ relevant professional experience in external relations, partnerships, philanthropy-facing work, client management, public affairs, or mission-driven relationship management.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
Work Environment:
- ADL is a hybrid environment; this role will require 3 days in person.
Compensation:
- This position has a salary range of $65,000 to $72,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in (New York, NY). Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
