What You Will Own:
The Associate Director, Philanthropy & Engagement is responsible for creating, implementing, and managing innovative engagement opportunities aimed at cultivating relationships with untapped demographics to build a robust pipeline of future donors. This role requires a focus on programmatic engagement that seamlessly integrates fundraising as the core objective.
The Associate Director will establish and maintain successful relationships within the community, plan and execute programs and events, and work collaboratively with the Chief Philanthropy Officer and other stakeholders to align activities with Jewish Nevada’s strategic goals.
What You Will Do:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Engagement & Relationship Building:
Develop and implement innovative engagement strategies aimed at connecting with untapped demographics and fostering a sense of community.
Build and cultivate relationships in the community to engage individuals in Federation programming and create a pipeline for donor conversion.
Serve as a visible, forward-facing representative of Jewish Nevada in the Las Vegas community by attending programs, events, and meetings.
Philanthropy Development:
Collaborate with the Chief Philanthropy Officer to design and execute strategies that convert engagement and program participation into annual campaign commitments.
Actively conduct one-on-one donor solicitations as a key responsibility, with a focus on building relationships and securing financial commitments to support Jewish Nevada’s mission.
Work closely with the Chief Philanthropy Officer and leadership team to gain the tools, training, and mentorship needed to excel in donor outreach and solicitation efforts.
Partner with community stakeholders to create impactful programs and initiatives that align with philanthropic goals and serve as entry points for donor cultivation.
Identify, educate, and motivate volunteers to actively participate in campaign activities and support engagement initiatives.
Programmatic Leadership:
Plan and execute targeted outreach and engagement events that integrate programmatic experiences with fundraising objectives.
Develop meaningful programming that resonates with specific community demographics to drive participation and engagement.
Marketing & Communication:
Work with the Marketing Director to promote events and initiatives through email, social media, and other channels.
Collaborate with graphic designers to create materials that effectively communicate engagement and fundraising opportunities.
Operational Support:
Utilize Neon One (CRM) to track and analyze donor engagement and campaign progress.
Monitor and manage budgets in collaboration with the Chief Philanthropy Officer.
Support the Chief Philanthropy Officer in planning and executing the Major Gifts Level event ($10,000+ donors).
What You Have Accomplished:
Bachelor’s degree required.
2-5 years of relevant experience in philanthropy, development, or programmatic engagement.
A successful track record with personal solicitation and donor relationship building.
Experience in creating and managing engagement initiatives and events.
Strong understanding of the relationship between engagement and fundraising.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and donor CRM systems (e.g., Neon One).
Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
Proven ability to manage relationships with volunteers and community members professionally and effectively.
Creative, forward-thinking, and excited about engaging new demographics..
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good judgment and the highest level of integrity.
Event planning experience preferred.
Microsoft Excel proficient.
Able to problem-solve and manage complex and sensitive issues with tact and great skill.
