JKG is hiring B Mitzvah and Teen Teachers to support our Sunday morning programs for older students. Depending on the program placement, teachers may work with middle school students in the JKG B Mitzvah Program or teen students in the Teen Leadership Academy.The JKG B Mitzvah Program offers a unique and meaningful way for students to become Jewish adults. Our in-person experience blends Jewish learning and community service, culminating in a group B Mitzvah celebration. Students in 6th-8th grade learn together, build lasting Jewish friendships, and prepare for this special milestone in a joyful, supportive community.The Teen Leadership Academy provides teens with opportunities to continue building Jewish community, explore leadership, and engage in meaningful Jewish learning and service. Responsibilities- Bring Sunday morning lessons to life through engaging discussions, activities, and hands-on learning- Build a warm, inclusive classroom culture where students feel connected, supported, and excited to participate- Help students form meaningful relationships with one another and with Jewish learning, identity, leadership, and community- Prepare for each session by reviewing weekly curriculum materials and completing brief pre- and post-session check-ins- Support a smooth program experience by helping with classroom setup, cleanup, transitions, and student flow Position Details- Schedule: Sundays, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM- Grades: 6th–8th (B Mitzvah) or 8th-10th (Teen Leadership)- Location: Morningside Qualifications- Ability to lead Jewish studies lessons (curriculum provided)- Hebrew knowledge preferred- Relate well with middle schoolers and teens- Prior teaching experience is a plus Compensation and Benefits- Up to $35/hour- Professional development opportunities- Referral program- Retention/attendance bonus- Supportive teaching environment- Valuable experience for future Jewish and educational roles
