Position Overview: The B Mitzvah & Teen Program Director will oversee all aspects of JKG’s innovative B Mitzvah and Teen Leadership Academy programs, ensuring they provide meaningful, engaging, and high-quality experiences for middle and high school students. This role is responsible for program design, implementation, administration, and community engagement. The B Mitzvah Program is a two-year journey that emphasizes Jewish learning, community service, and personal exploration. The Teen Leadership Academy offers mentorship, leadership development, and hands-on teaching experience. This role requires creativity, strong organizational skills, and a passion for empowering Jewish youth to grow as leaders and learners.Job Description (highlights):- Program Development: Hone vision and approach; refine policies and program initiatives; manage experiential Jewish and Hebrew curriculum; solicit and integrate feedback; implement new programming; steward relationships with community partners (e.g., JTeen).- Team Dynamics & Management: Recruit/hire/train teachers, assistants, specialists, and volunteers; run orientation and regular staff meetings/PD; support lesson planning and classroom management; cultivate a positive, hardworking culture; occasionally serve as a teacher; attend leadership team meetings.- Family Relationship Management: Exceed parent expectations through proactive communication; send weekly updates; serve as point of contact and ensure families are well supported throughout the B Mitzvah experience.- Operations Management: Address facility issues; coordinate supplies/space; maintain admin records in ChildPilot; purchase supplies and manage inventory; manage program budget; oversee security logistics.- Driving Enrollment: Recruit families via events and outreach; steward families through enrollment; meet with families; lead tours.- Curriculum & Programming: Oversee Judaics/Hebrew curriculum and Year Two Personal Interest Projects; collaborate with Director of Education; maintain curriculum files; ensure lesson quality and engagement.- Special Projects & Events: Plan five community service field trips; manage Personal Interest Projects; coordinate logistics for the B Mitzvah ceremony (venue, presentations, communications, overall logistics); support other JKG events as needed.- Miscellaneous: Other projects and responsibilities within the B Mitzvah umbrella.Characteristics of a Successful Candidate: Community builder; background in Jewish education and Jewish summer camp; event planning experience; meticulous attention to detail; exceptional organizational skills; collaborative mindset; proficiency with technology platforms and CRMs; strong understanding of traditional Judaism and embrace of JKG’s progressive approach.More Information: Position Type: Regular Full Time, Exempt. Work Hours: Sunday–Thursday. Start Date: May 2025 or as soon as possible. Salary: Range begins at $60,000, commensurate with experience and skills + enrollment bonuses (up to $5,000).
