The Palm Beach Center to Combat Antisemitism & Hatred was created to expand our leadership role to address acts of hatred against the Jewish community. The Center will significantly impact and influence both the Jewish and general Palm Beach communities by taking a proactive stance against antisemitism. The Center’s programs and initiatives will serve as a model for other Jewish communities across North America. The Center focuses on two strategic priorities: Strengthening safety and security and building relationships beyond the Jewish community. The Center operates as a department of Federation’s integrated Financial Resource Development (FRD) team.
Position Summary:
The Operations Manager, PBC is responsible for the overall administration of the Palm Beach Center. The Operations Manager will oversee business processes for marketing and Center events, from ideation to implementation as well as engage in formal budget planning for the Center to understand financial needs and allocate funding grants accordingly. The Manager will work closely with the Executive Director, to help implement the Center’s strategy in collaboration with internal and external partners and will manage the Grant Manager and oversee the grant administration process. To this end, the Operations Manager will possess the necessary skills to manage budgets, oversee grant administration and volunteer management, and act as a project manager for marketing and Center events. This position will require collaboration with various stakeholders and the skill set to manage various projects and staff governance committees.
The successful candidate will be part of a team that collaborates extensively with colleagues across Federation, including in Financial Resource Development (Annual Campaign, Development Services, Marketing, Events, and more) and other key offices throughout Federation, including Finance. This position reports to the Executive Director, Palm Beach Center (PBC).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with the Executive Director, other Center staff to advance the Center’s vision and mission, help to manage the strategic implementation, overall budget and finances, and ongoing management of key projects and initiatives across various initiatives
- Analyzes, reviews and improves processes, policies and procedures where appropriate to increase efficiencies, provide high-quality internal and external customer service and protect the interests of Federation.
- Coordinate the planning, execution and evaluation of the Center’s initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and desired outcomes.
- Collaborates with the Executive Director and Grants Manager to coordinate with Jewish organizational partners and grantees who are working to implement the collective strategy.
- Utilizes data analytics to assess the impact and effectiveness of Center programs, track progress toward goals, and prepare comprehensive reports on the Center’s work for leadership and other stakeholders. Support Development work by preparing reports, and offering content expertise when needed.
- Work closely with marketing and communication team and other internal stakeholders to update resources, websites, and ensure communications are aligned with strategy
- Takes responsibility for vetting and ultimate approval by ED of all briefings, Center materials and communications
- Collaborate with External Affairs colleagues to promote Center to donors (events, corporate members, sponsorships, media buys, etc.)
- Supports the PBC Advisory Committee, including preparing materials and agendas for committee meetings, follow up on action items, coordinating committee strategy and advancement, and working to engage committee members in the work of the department
- Evaluate volunteer experience and develop and implement improvements and innovation as needed
- Works with the Executive Director, PBC on budget creation and forecasts, ensures adherence to budget and overall financial oversight
- Support a diverse team of Center professionals and foster a team culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement
- Supervises the Grant Manager as well as the Administrative Assistant
- Manages electronic files in coordination with support staff.
Qualifications and Success Factors:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, related advanced degree/certification) preferred.
- Preference will be given to those with five or more years of related work experience, preferably in finance or other similar setting or equivalent combination of relevant education, experience and skills required.
- Strong knowledge of basic office computing, including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Zoom and basic database skills required.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively as a trusted member of an interdepartmental team.
- Up-to-date understanding of contemporary antisemitism and interest in the Jewish community and commitment to the goals of Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County.

- Facility managing finances, including projects, accounting, and budget management

- Willingness to invest in ongoing professional development and education.
- Ability to design, implement, and direct multiple projects, setting deadlines and ensuring program accountability.
- Must be able to work off-shift hours including nights and weekends, as needed.
Work Environment:
Position is eligible to work from home occasionally in accordance with Federation policies. When working from home, employee must:
- Follow all Federation policies and procedures,
- Be available to other employees during Federation’s normal business hours,
- Not work from a public place (e.g. coffee shop, library, etc.) and/or join a public, unsecure wi-fi network when working with sensitive or confidential information,
- Coordinate with IT department to maintain appropriate computer equipment and connectivity.
