We are seeking a creative, highly organized and enthusiastic individual to coordinate the logistics, content, and outreach for the “HaKibbutz” program for Hebrew speaking children, youth and families.
The ideal candidate is outgoing, warm and welcoming, with a deep commitment to Jewish values and culture and who understands the needs of Hebrew speaking families. As part of the SJCC’s team, they will ensure that the JCC continues to be a central gathering place to build community through lifelong learning, recreation, wellness and cultural connection to Israel.
Reporting to the Soloway JCC’s Education and Cultural Program Manager, the HaKibbutz Program Coordinator will work collaboratively to grow and enhance the program which includes developing leadership skills, creating meaningful social connections and of course having fun, all in Hebrew.

Responsibilities & Opportunities
• Coordinate weekly classes for children and youth. Work collaboratively with teachers and the volunteer board to develop and implement engaging plans for the weekly classes.
• Plan and implement a family engagement program with a minimum of six special events or initiatives to engage families through the year.
• Actively engage in creative outreach and marketing to recruit new families to grow the program.
• Communicate effectively with families and teachers to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
•Collaborate with a variety of community partners and key stakeholders to strengthen family engagement within the program.
• Seek grants and funding opportunities to help expand the program.

Leadership Characteristics
• Loves people and has strong interpersonal and networking skills.
• Effective communicator, both written and oral communications in both English and Hebrew, and experience with digital marketing and communication.
• Team player with experience in managing staff and collaborating with volunteers.
• Adaptable and attuned to the changing nature of families and Jewish life.

Qualifications
• University degree or relevant training.
• 2+ years of experience in event and program coordination.
• Experience leading informal education programs.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Jewish culture and traditions.
• Must be able to work on Sundays, as well as occasional Saturdays and evenings as required.
• Familiarity with Jewish Ottawa is an asset.
