In this role, you’ll support Federation’s fundraising efforts by managing a targeted portfolio of donors—particularly business professionals—while collaborating with colleagues and lay leaders to create engagement opportunities that deepen community connection and philanthropic commitment.
Make an Impact In:
Donor Relationship Building & Stewardship
- Serve as a front-line fundraiser, managing a portfolio of donors primarily giving annually at the $500–$5,000 level.
- Cultivate new relationships and steward existing ones through personalized outreach, face-to-face meetings, and event follow-up.
- Identify prospects and guide them through the donor journey: supporting annual campaign giving and introducing them to legacy and strategic philanthropy opportunities in collaboration with senior development staff.
- Use data and metrics to utilize moves management plans and track progress toward fundraising goals.
Volunteer Engagement & Leadership Development
- Build and support lay leadership structures for key donor cohorts, with a focus on cultivating leaders within the business community.
- Provide guidance, resources, and strategic direction for lay leaders, supporting their involvement in donor outreach and Federation initiatives.
- In partnership with senior staff, help identify and nurture the next generation of organizational lay leaders.
Donor Programming & Community Experiences
- Plan and implement meaningful donor engagement experiences, including large-scale events to intimate gatherings, immersive trips, and leadership development series.
- Collaborate with local partner agencies and colleagues to design experiences that reflect donor interests and Federation priorities.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure seamless execution of events and communications.
Team Collaboration & Mission-Driven Growth
- Report to the Director of Donor Engagement, contributing to department strategy while collaborating with colleagues of all levels across the organization.
- Maintain accurate donor data and documentation in our CRM system to support informed decision-making.
- Actively support Federation’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging in all aspects of donor and community engagement.
What You’ll Bring:
- 4–7 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, sales, or relationship management.
- Proven ability to cultivate and manage donor relationships, with a focus on cultivation and solicitation.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- A self-starter mindset with attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Experience working with volunteers and/or community committees is a plus.
- Familiarity with Jewish community life and traditions is preferred.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and CRM systems; Salesforce or similar platforms preferred.
- Access to reliable transportation for local donor meetings and events.
