Summary
RJDS is seeking a friendly, organized, tech-comfortable coordinator to supportfront office reception, school communications and daily social media, and basic staff/student technology support in a busy K–7 school environment. Strong Canva, Adobe Suite and Microsoft 365 skills are required.
Position Summary
This is a multi-faceted, on-site role combining:
- Front Office / Secretary responsibilities (phones, visitors, day-to-day reception).
- Marketing & Communications (including daily social media posts and print materials).
- Technology Support (onboarding staff accounts, basic troubleshooting, keeping devices functional).
Responsibilities
Front Office / Reception
- Answer phones, respond to general inquiries, and route messages appropriately
Communications & Administrative Support
- Assist with school communications (emails, notices, newsletters, reminders).
- Support event communications and coordination (schedules, reminders, volunteer info).
- Maintain organized digital files for communications, templates, and forms.
- Update school information across platforms as needed (including website updates where applicable).
Marketing, Design & Social Media
- Create and post daily content across RJDS social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook)
- Capture photos/video of school life and events (following school guidelines and consent protocols)
- Draft captions, stories/reels, and posts aligned with RJDS values and brand
- Maintain a content calendar and coordinate posts for admissions, events, and key dates
- Design print and digital materials using Canva (posters, flyers, event signage, simple graphics/templates)
Technology & Systems Support
- Provide first-line support for basic tech issues (laptops/Chromebooks/iPads, printers, classroom tech).
- Support onboarding/offboarding: set up RJDS email accounts and access to key platforms/tools.
- Assist with password resets, device sign-outs, and keeping basic inventories updated.
- Support staff with Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams where applicable, Word/Excel basics).
- Liaise with external IT support/vendor for escalated issues.
- Welcome and assist parents, visitors, and deliveries at the front office.
- Support student sign-in/sign-out and daily office routines.
- Maintain a calm, professional, and welcoming front-desk environment.
- Provide general administrative support as needed (printing, filing, coordination).
Qualifications
- Proven experience in digital marketing, including social media advertising and email campaigns.
- Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, and Google Analytics.
- Excellent research and content creation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of SEO and online advertising platforms such as Google AdWords is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Passion for education and community engagement.
Assets (Nice to Have)
- Photography/videography and basic video editing for short-form content
- Website updating experience (WordPress/Squarespace)
- Experience supporting devices in a school setting
