About the position:
We are looking for a dedicated, dynamic, compassionate, innovative, and inspiring teacher librarian to join our school family. A person with integrity, the successful candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students to make a difference in the lives of others while working hard and having fun. King David is a growing school with approximately 270 students and 50 staff members. We are looking for an educator who will thrive in a relational setting and will support and implement a competency-based approach to teaching while caring for and supporting students’ emotional well-being and development.
The successful candidate will have a love of reading, experience running a library, and a joy for teaching adolescents. The candidate will also have an openness and excitement to find ways to integrate Judaic Studies into all aspects of the curriculum. We are looking for candidates who truly want to use their passion to make a difference in the lives of our students. You must value diversity as it relates to all people, including aspects of identity, and have respect for indigenous traditions and ways of knowing. We also want you to know that you will be a valued and cared-for member of our school team.
Requirements for the position:
Be certified to teach in British Columbia
A documented ability to teach with kindness and flexibility to support students in their learning
A desire to always improve practice and the learning experience for students
Experience in running a library in a school setting
Ability to teach research skills and core competency skills to students in the library or in the classroom setting
Works collaboratively with teachers from all subject areas
Openness and desire to find ways to integrate Judaic Studies into all aspects of the curriculum
Be a contributor to our co-curricular program through running a club or coaching a sports team
