Driver - Grocery and Meals Program

Role Overview
JFS is looking for a driver to join our Food Security team to help provide meals and groceries to 300 households weekly. The Food Security Driver reports to the Director of Food Security and is responsible for picking up and delivering various types of freight and packages to and from different locations, utilizing your own vehicle or an assigned truck. You could be a fit for this role if you have a can-do attitude, are solutions-focused and take pride in your contributions.
What You Will Do
• Pick-up and delivery of food and meals to the proper destination in a timely manner
• Checking in with the manager for updates on progress and other information
• Maintaining the timesheet
• Picking up and returning the rental truck
• On-call for pick-up of food donations
• Cleaning and maintenance of the JFS truck
• Schedule is Monday-Thursday; with occasional Fridays
• Additional days/hours may be required occasionally, as needed
• Other tasks as assigned
What You Will Bring to the Job
• A Valid Driver's License (class 5)
• Clean driving record
• Use of a reliable personal vehicle is an asset
• Must be insurable
• Ability to lift boxes (up to 30-50 lbs.)
• Ability to drive a 15 ft. truck for periods up to five hours at a time
• Knowledge of truck operations: securing of the vehicle and freight
• Must be computer literate
• Knowledge of safety regulations as per “Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations Manual” (training provided)
• A great attitude and excellent interpersonal skills

• Competitive salary in the non-profit marketplace. The salary for this role is $30,500 for a part-time position; 28 hours per week

Vaccination Policy
JFS requires that all employees and volunteers be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Anyone hired after January 1, 2022, will be required to show evidence that they have received at least one dose of the vaccine prior to employment, and we will require that they be fully vaccinated within 30 days of their start date.
