Full-Time, Exempt | Reports to Executive Director

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and execution of a high-quality, safe, and fun camp program that serves over 350 children across 8 weeks each summer.
  • Manage all aspects of camp operations including staff recruitment, training, camper grouping, scheduling, transportation, supplies, special events, and daily logistics.
  • Supervise all camp staff and volunteers; conduct evaluations and foster strong team relationships.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, camp policies, and state licensing regulations.
  • Collaborate on marketing and promotion of camp, including outreach and materials.
  • Support and participate in fundraising efforts, including the Send A Kid to Camp (SAK) Fund.
  • Develop and manage the annual camp budget, ensuring financial efficiency and sustainability.
  • During the school year, supervise and mentor youth and sports programmers, providing guidance to help grow their programs and increase revenue.
  • Maintain detailed records, including attendance, staff files, health forms, and incident reports.
  • Promote a values-based environment that supports the physical, emotional, and social well-being of all campers and participants.
  • Responsible for utilizing CampMinder for registration, billing and payments, and necessary paperwork for staff and campers.

  • Provide supervision for department heads, front-line staff, and other employees as assigned.
  • Assist in preparing the annual budgets for all assigned departments, and monitor and provide feedback on monthly financial statements.
  • Help develop the brand identity for each department’s programs in line with the organization’s mission and market demand.
  • Mentor and coach Directors to be the best they can be. Lead these directors to take active initiative to grow programming and themselves.

  • Take an active interest in career growth, including learning new skills, staying current on industry trends, and constantly innovating and taking calculated risks.
  • Participate as a member of the JCC’s Senior leadership team
  • Conduct personal outreach to JCC members and participants, building relationships and leveraging them to encourage repeat and cross-department business.
  • Regularly assess local competition to determine brand positioning and opportunities for growth.
