Young Adults Division Associate

Are you passionate about building community, cultivating relationships, and empowering the next generation of Jewish leaders? The Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City is seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven professional to join our team as the Young Adults Division (YAD) Associate.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives on making meaningful connections, loves planning and executing impactful events, and is inspired by the power of collective giving. The YAD Associate will focus on engaging Jewish young adults in their 20s and 30s through creative programming, leadership development and philanthropic outreach.
Working closely with the Chief of Staff, development team, marketing team, and other colleagues, this individual will oversee all YAD initiatives and help grow a vibrant, inclusive and empowered young adult Jewish community in Kansas City.
Key Responsibilities:

- Community Building and Engagement:
- Identify, connect with, and engage Jewish young adults; recruit and support volunteers; and create inclusive spaces that foster belonging and leadership.
- This role requires a passion for meaningful 1:1 engagement—building trust, deepening relationships, and inspiring connection through every personal interaction.
- Leadership Development:
- Cultivate emerging leaders by guiding volunteer committees and training program/event organizers.
- Fundraising:
- Take on a personal portfolio of donors and prospects to cultivate relationships and secure annual gifts.
- Relationship Management:
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and constituent data in our CRM system.
- Events:
- Plan and execute YAD’s two signature events annually, as well as a range of smaller, targeted programs throughout the year (e.g., Impact Series, Seder Shuffles, etc.).
- Marketing and Event Collaboration:
- Partner with the marketing team to create and manage relevant YAD content on social media and digital platforms. Collaborate with the event and marketing staff to create event and overall marketing collateral.
Who You Are:
- A natural connector with a passion for community engagement
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Emotionally intelligent and confident in building meaningful relationships
- Comfortable initiating conversations around philanthropy and leadership
- Tech-savvy and fluent in MS Office tools; CRM/database experience is a plus
- Flexible and adaptable, with willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends
Qualifications:
Required –
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to motivate volunteers and peers with professionalism and positivity
- Commitment to uphold confidentiality and managing information with care
Preferred –
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2–3 years of relevant professional experience (event planning, community engagement, fundraising, etc.)
- Knowledge of Jewish culture, traditions, and community life
- Passion for the mission and values of the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City

Our annual campaign raises more than $5.5 million from approximately 1,100 donors. We provide grant funding to local agency partners and partners in Israel or overseas, as well as grants to national partner organizations.
Salary Range: $50,000 – 60,000
