Young Adult Division Engagement Manager

Job Description
Reporting to the Managing Director of Leadership and Engagement, this role serves as a strategic thought partner to engage Houston Jewish young adults in their 20s-40s while simultaneously creating a leadership pipeline for the next generation of leaders in the Jewish community. The Minnette and Jerome Robinson Young Adult Division (YAD) Engagement Manager will support the development, implementation and monitoring of strategies and trends to guide young adults on a pathway from initial engagement to deeper involvement with Jewish community, leadership and philanthropy.
The primary responsibilities for this role will include:
- Foster the success and growth of the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston’s Minnette and Jerome Robinson Young Adult Division (YAD)
- Oversee programming, recruitment, and follow up for YAD events
- Program lead for signature YAD events
- Direct supervision of YAD Engagement Associate
- Steward donor relations
- Work closely with the YAD Chair to maximize the impact and co-lead the YAD Advisory Committee
- Maintain ongoing communication and engagement with YAD participants and lay leaders
- Support and collaborate facilitation of a network of professionals working in Engagement across Jewish organizations in the community
- Foster professional relationships with partner agencies to promote collaboration
- Recruit for and implement the FedU young adult leadership program
- Work closely with the Federation’s NexGen Philanthropy Manager to support young adult leadership pipelines and support the demographic’s growth in annual giving
- Work across the Federation’s Engagement team to build a pipeline of opportunities from Honeymoon Israel participants to PJ Library parents of young children

Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience with community engagement in a Jewish organization
- Natural leader and excellent communicator
- Should have an intimate understanding and knowledge of the Jewish community, Jewish calendar, basic Judaic content, and experience in designing and delivering experiences that engage a variety of audiences in celebrating, learning, and participating in Jewish life
- Be able to nurture personal relationships and foster a culture of collaboration among diverse community organizations across all denominations
- Creative, innovative thinker who can design and facilitate engagement and leadership opportunities for those seeking pathways to involvement in Jewish life
- Organized, flexible, have and be a team player who can work with multiple staff
- Proficient writing and communication skills
- Represent and be an ambassador for the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston and the young adult community at large
- Enthusiastic team player with a Growth Mindset
- Attention to detail and a collaborative spirit are important
- Must have availability for nights and weekends
