TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This role serves as a strategic thought partner to engage Houston Jewish young adults in their 20s-40s. The Minette and Jerome Robinson Young Adult Division Engagement Associate will support the development, implementation and monitoring of strategies and trends to guide young adults on a pathway from initial engagement to deeper involvement with Jewish community, leadership and philanthropy.

Applicants should have an intimate understanding and knowledge of Jewish community, calendar, basic Judaic content, and experience in designing and delivering experiences that engage a variety of audiences in celebrating, learning, and participating in Jewish life. They should be able to nurture personal relationships and foster a culture of collaboration among diverse community organizations across all denominations. Applicants should be organized, flexible, have proficient writing and communication skills and be a team player able to work with multiple staff. Attention to detail and a collaborative spirit are important. This position requires availability for nights and weekends.
The YAD Engagement Associate will work closely with and assist the YAD Engagement Manager by taking an active role in the following areas​:
Outreach & Engagement:
  • Outreach for individuals new to YAD and/or Houston
  • Maintain ongoing communication and engagement with active YAD participants and lay leaders
  • Manage recruitment and follow up for YAD events
  • Create innovative ways to engage YAD through a Jewish lens
  • Identify and cultivate a pipeline of emerging young adult leaders
  • Foster professional relationships with partner agencies to promote collaboration
  • Work across the Engagement team to build a pipeline of opportunities from Honeymoon Israel participants to PJ Library parents of young children
  • Support the Jewish Federation’s team of Philanthropy and Engagement professionals by attending events regularly
  • Represent YAD in the Greater Houston Jewish community and emulate the Federation’s core values
Facilitation:
  • Assist YAD Engagement Manager in event and program coordination and facilitation
  • Lead regular YAD happy hours, volunteer opportunities, and couples-based engagement programming
  • Assist with YAD’s bi-annual FedU leadership program
  • Assist with facilitating a network of professionals working in Engagement across Jewish organizations in the community
Data & Process:
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to monitor, evaluate and adapt YAD marketing and promotion efforts with trends and interests related to the demographic
  • Create and distribute post-event evaluation surveys and collect data for future measurement reports and evaluation
  • Assist in data analysis reports that reflect trends in YAD participation, progress, and planning
  • Assist with correspondence, social media posts and direct text communication with YAD demographic
  • Maintain and grow YAD’s social media presence
  • Grow the YAD subscriber base

Requirements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This job requires prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, frequent hearing and talking. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
